Why did you choose YMCA?: 8 years ago, my sister graduated from Yokohama YMCA Japanese Language Department. She introduced me to the school and said that in Yokohama, YMCA is the best school to learn the Japanese language. That is why I chose this school.

What is good about the school?: I think that the overwhelming support given by the Japanese language lecturers and the office staff is the best point about the school. Aside from studies, we can consult them whenever we have concerns and worries about our everyday life. This also creates a good learning environment for students to learn from the ground up.

What is impressive about the events in school?: Going to the campsite at the base of Mt. Fuji really gave me a good impression of the school. For many study abroad students who arrive in Japan for the first time, it may be difficult to get used to life here, especially since there is little opportunity to travel. However, in YMCA, we got the chance to have a training camp at the campsite at Mt. Fuji, which was a really fun and enjoyable experience.

Message for prospective students of YMCA: When I enrolled in Yokohama YMCA Japanese Language Department, my knowledge of hiragana was rather poor. But thanks to the lecturers and teachers, my Japanese language proficiency improved and eventually managed to get a scholarship from YMCA. To those who wish to learn from scratch, and to those who wish to go on to university or job-hunting in Japan, please come to Yokohama YMCA Japanese Language Department.

Why would you choose Yokohama?: In addition to being close to Tokyo, Yokohama is well-known and has pretty night scenes. There are also various famous places near the school. Therefore, it was really comfortable to live in Yokohama. The environment, the lecturers and teachers are all good. So, to those who wish to learn the Japanese language, I highly recommend Yokohama YMCA Japanese Language Department.

Why did you choose YMCA?: The son of my mum’s acquaintance studied in Yokohama YMCA Japanese Language Department. He recommended the school to me, saying that it is a good school. So, I decided to enroll.

What is good about the school?: It is good to see students from various countries in this school. The diverse environment allows cultural exchange among the students and help to broaden our knowledge internationally. The teachers are also friendly and gave me a lot of good advice.

What is impressive about the events in school?: The one-night training camp at Mt. Fuji YMCA really left me a good impression. Upon enrollment, I quickly went to the training camp, where I met my classmates and managed to make a lot of friends. Without a doubt, you will create good memories at Mt. Fuji YMCA.

Message for prospective students of YMCA: While learning the Japanese language, the contents will steadily become more difficult. But don’t give up, and instead, let’s do our best together! If you put in a lot of effort in your studies daily, your Japanese language will certainly get better!

Why would you choose Yokohama?: I am a Taiwanese, but because Yokohama’s climate is similar to that of Taiwan’s, it was really comfortable to live here. Tokyo is also close by, and its transportation is convenient as well.
